The methodology of design analysis is applied to selected products and furniture to enable students to assess the purpose and make value judgments of material use, internal components and mechanical devices. Design projects are focused on using information gained to create, redesign or improve a product or item of furniture suitable for economic manufacture. Computer based studio sessions and tuition enable students to design and refine project work utilising advanced-cad, solid-modelling and data-rich software. This creates a package of visual information and illustrations with manufacturing instructions to communicate design intent. -- Course Website
